PLATEAU ANNOUNCES ROAD CLOSURES AS TINUBU VISITS JOS FOR APC CHAIRMAN’S MOTHER’S BURIAL
By Aishat Momoh. O.
The Plateau State Government has announced road closures in Jos and Bukuru to facilitate the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday for the burial of Nana Lydia Yilwada, mother of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwada.
In a statement on Friday, Commissioner for Information Joyce Ramnap said traffic diversions would begin from 7 a.m. on October 4, covering Mararaban Jama’a through Bukuru expressway; Dadin-Kowa, Old Airport to Plateau Hospital roundabout; and Hillstation roundabout to COCIN Headquarters/Central Bank road.
Ramnap appealed for residents’ cooperation, stressing that the measures were temporary and necessary for security and smooth movement of the presidential entourage.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang also urged Plateau residents to give President Tinubu a warm welcome, describing the visit as an opportunity for the President to deepen his appreciation of the state and its people. He called for peace, unity, and harmony among citizens, noting that Plateau could only reach its full potential through collective effort.
Following the burial rites, President Tinubu is expected to meet Christian leaders from across northern Nigeria at the headquarters of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Jos.
