KANO BUSINESSMAN SHOT DEAD BY SUSPECTED GUNMEN

Gunmen, suspected to be bandits, have killed a prominent community businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago, during a night raid in Tiga town, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident was reported on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Tuesday.

According to Bakatsine, the attackers struck late at night, storming Mai Shago’s shop where he was shot dead. The assailants reportedly stole valuables from the premises before fleeing the scene.

“Last night, gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded Tiga town in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State. During the attack, they killed a well-known community businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago, in his shop and carted away valuables before fleeing the area,” Bakatsine wrote.

He added that the tragic event highlights the worsening security situation in the region, questioning how long the escalation of banditry in Nigeria’s northwest will continue and what concrete measures are being implemented to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
