The Eko Electricity Distribution Company on Tuesday called on all corporate and MD electricity customers to submit their tax identification details in line with the Nigeria Tax Act.
In a statement posted on the company’s official account, EKEDC explained, “The Nigeria Tax Act (2025), effective January 1, 2026, mandates that all invoices, including electricity bills issued to corporate/MD customers, must include at least one of the following identification details: Tax Identification Number (TIN), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration number, or National Identification Number (NIN).”
The company instructed customers to provide this information, along with their name, email, and phone number, via the form at customertax-id.ekedp.com by February 28, 2026.
EKEDC cautioned, “Invoices issued without the required information will be considered invalid under the Tax Act. Non-compliance may prevent us from issuing your electricity bills and could lead to service suspension after the specified deadline.”
For customers without a Tax Identification Number (TIN), the company advised: “To register for a new TIN, visit tin.jtb.gov.ng. You can also use the portal to verify if your TIN is correct and active.”
The company concluded by thanking customers for their “prompt cooperation” in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
