Galatasaray S.K. striker Victor Osimhen has praised Juventus F.C. after their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff second-leg clash on Wednesday.
Osimhen acknowledged that the Serie A heavyweights merited their victory following an impressive performance against Galatasaray.
Juventus had suffered a 5–2 defeat in the first leg but responded with a 3–2 win in the return fixture. However, the Italian side—known as the Old Lady—were eliminated from the competition after falling 7–5 on aggregate.
Speaking to CBS Sports after the match, Osimhen expressed his disappointment.
“I’m disappointed with the team’s overall performance, and I have to give credit to Juventus. They deserved the win, but I’m glad we progressed.
“We’ve qualified, but there’s plenty to improve in the knockout stage if we want to advance further and compete with the top teams.
“Today’s performance wasn’t good enough. Juventus earned the win, but I’m pleased that my team made it through to the next round.”
