The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, Lagos State Command, has received the team responsible for the credentials and physical screening of successful applicants in the ongoing police constable recruitment exercise.
The meeting, held on Monday at the Nigeria Police Force Command Headquarters in Ikeja, involved officers of the police and personnel from the Police Service Commission overseeing the recruitment process for 50,000 police constables nationwide.
Addressing the team, Jimoh charged members to strictly adhere to the established guidelines governing the screening exercise. He emphasised that the process must be conducted with the highest level of integrity, fairness and transparency to protect the credibility of both the police and the commission.
He stressed that maintaining due process throughout the exercise was essential to ensuring that only qualified and suitable candidates were recruited into the force.
The screening team, in response, assured the commissioner of their readiness and commitment to ensuring that the exercise follows due process and meets required standards.
The police team is led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Adebisi Balogun, while the team from the Police Service Commission is headed by Chief Administrative Officer Eleyinmi Akinola. Both teams are working alongside other stakeholders, including the Federal Character Commission and the Police Community Relations Committee, to ensure the smooth and credible conduct of the exercise.
The Lagos State Police Command also emphasised that the recruitment screening is completely free of charge, warning applicants and members of the public to be wary of fraudsters who may demand money or claim they can influence the process.

Applicants were advised to adhere strictly to their scheduled screening dates and times and to come with all required documents, including their invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number printout issued by the National Identity Management Commission, ‘O’ Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of local government or state of origin.
Other required documents include trade test certificates for specialist applicants, a duly completed guarantors’ form with attached passport photographs, and both original and duplicate copies of credentials arranged in separate files.
Applicants were further directed to log into the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print the necessary documents required for the screening exercise.
The command urged all applicants to comply with the stated guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful recruitment process.
