GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS CONFIRMS LARGEST AFROBEATS ORCHESTRA AT LAGOS CONCERT

Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience set the record for the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats, featuring 85 musicians on a single stage.
The milestone was achieved on 16 December 2025 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos, with performances by Saheed Osupa, Rybeena, KS 1 Malaika, T.I Blaze, and 81 other musicians. The orchestra performed under a conductor, alongside a lead singer, choir, dancers, and synchronized orchestral arrangements.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the organisers celebrated the achievement, stating: “Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert. With unforgettable performances from T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, Dwillsharmony and Fuji legends KS1 Malaika and King Saheed Osupa; the night became a powerful fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral brilliance. We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History.”
Guinness World Records confirmed that the record was achieved by Dapper Live & Artists (Nigeria), with the coordinated orchestral presentation built around an Afrobeats composition. The attempt involved a conductor, lead singer, choir, dancers, and dozens of musicians performing in perfect synchronisation.
The concert highlighted the fusion of Afrobeats with orchestral arrangements, showcasing both emerging and established artistes, while integrating elements of Fuji music.
Dapper Live & Artists is linked to Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who is also noted for his collaboration with celebrity chef and three-time Guinness World Records holder, Hilda Baci.
This achievement underscores the growing global recognition of Nigeria’s contemporary music scene and its ability to blend traditional and modern musical styles on an unprecedented scale.
