A statement from the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized that the President expects Aliyu to leverage his experience to reposition the PTDF for greater impact in human capital development, innovation, and strategic support for the oil and gas sector, in line with national priorities.
Engineer Abdulaziz’s reappointment follows a thorough review of his performance in managing Nigeria’s transmission network. Under his leadership, TCN has achieved notable improvements in grid stability, transmission capacity expansion, and system modernization, reinforcing its essential role in the country’s electricity sector.
With over three decades of experience in the power industry, Abdulaziz has also enhanced regional electricity integration through his leadership in the West African Power Pool (WAPP).
President Tinubu urged both appointees to execute their duties with diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of national service, in line with the principles of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
