PCN SHUTS DOWN 131 PHARMACEUTICAL OUTLETS IN NASARAWA STATE

The Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) has stepped up efforts to curb unsafe practices in the drug distribution sector, shutting down at least 131 pharmaceutical outlets across Nasarawa State.
Dr. Suleiman Chiroma, the Council’s Head of Enforcement, disclosed this while speaking to the media in Karu.

He explained that the closures resulted from a three-day statewide surveillance and enforcement exercise aimed at cleaning up the sector.
The affected establishments include 16 wholesale outlets, 31 registered community pharmacies, 51 patent medicine shops, and 32 premises operating without proper licences.
