US President Donald Trump has issued a profane warning to Iran, threatening the country’s infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.
Trump told US media, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one” in Iran if the key shipping lane remains closed. He reiterated his earlier threat to unleash “hell” unless Tehran complies with his April 6 deadline. While previous deadlines have shifted, the president said there is still a “good chance” of reaching a deal.
The tense standoff appears to be intensifying at sea. Orla Guerin reports seeing ships anchored near the mouth of the strait, highlighting the strategic importance of the corridor for global trade.
One Iranian told The Media, “It feels like we’re sinking deeper into a swamp…what can we do as ordinary people? We can’t do anything. We can’t stop [Trump].”
Meanwhile, Trump confirmed that an American crew member rescued after a fighter jet was shot down over Iran is “SAFE and SOUND.”
