TRUMP SAYS US ARMS FOR IRANIAN PROTESTERS WERE DIVERTED

President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the United States attempted to supply Iranian protesters with weapons, but the arms were diverted and never reached the intended recipients.
Trump said the shipments were intended to help anti-government demonstrators defend themselves against authorities.

“We sent guns, a lot of guns, they were supposed to go to the people so they could fight back against these thugs,” Trump told reporters at a White House Easter event.
He added, “You know what happened? The people that they sent them to kept them. So I’m very upset with a certain group of people, and they’re going to pay a big price for that.”
Trump did not specify who he was accusing. However, on Sunday, he reportedly told a Fox News reporter that he blamed Kurdish intermediaries for diverting the weapons intended for Iranian dissidents.
