The campaign organisation of former Osun State Deputy Governor, Iyiola Omisore, has praised former APC National Chairman, Bisi Akande, for mediating a reconciliation meeting between the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and Omisore in an effort to resolve their political rift.

Party insiders, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that the meeting took place in Abuja on Sunday and was facilitated by Akande.

Sources said the Abuja talks followed an earlier engagement between Omisore and members of the Osun APC Elders Council in Ile-Ife, where the former senator reportedly presented certain demands to the party.

Oyetola and Omisore had previously worked closely during the 2022 Osun governorship election and the 2023 general elections, but their relationship later deteriorated ahead of the APC governorship primary in December, which was won by Bola Oyebamiji.

Omisore, who did not participate in the primary, had earlier raised concerns over Oyetola’s management of party affairs.

Photos circulating on social media showing Akande, Oyetola, and Omisore together have sparked optimism about a possible reconciliation within the party.

Reacting to the development, the spokesperson for the Omisore Campaign Organisation, Jamiu Olawumi, said the group had not yet received a formal briefing on the outcome of the meeting but expressed confidence in Akande’s peace efforts.

He noted that while the reconciliation move was welcome, it came after months of unresolved tensions, adding that the dispute had lingered for about five months during a crucial election period.

Olawumi commended Akande for his persistence in seeking unity, expressing hope that the efforts would restore harmony and strengthen the party moving forward.

Attempts to reach the Osun APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing the report.
