METELE BASE ATTACK: ARMY MOVES ITS CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO MAIDUGURI
As a result of the killings at the Metele base, the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference initially scheduled to hold in Benin City has been moved to Maiduguri, Borno State.
This was disclosed by President Buhari’s aide on New Media, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad on his Twitter handle on Sunday evening.
He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to declare the COAS Annual Conference on November 28, 2018 at the Conference Hall CGH in Maiduguri, Borno state.
“The conference was earlier scheduled to take place from 26 -28 November 2018 in Benin, Edo state.
It was gathered that the movement of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference from Benin City to Maiduguri was likely because of the killing of Nigeria soldiers at Metele, a secluded village between the border of Nigeria and Chad. This was done so that President Buhari would use the opportunity of the conference to address the Nigerian Soldiers at the war front and to further boost their morale.
