GOMBE GOVERNOR APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMEN, DGS, SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANTS

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointment of new chairmen, directors-general and senior special assistants as part of efforts to enhance governance and improve coordination across key sectors of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, announced the appointments in a statement on Thursday, noting that the newly appointed officials would support the administration’s economic, political, social and community engagement programmes.
Under the new appointments, Dr Kabiru Hassan was named Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Agency, while Dr Abdullahi Lamido was appointed Director-General of Economic and Social Reforms Coordination in the Governor’s Office.

Prof. Hassan Bello was appointed Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, while Dr Takkani Solomon Jiga will serve as Director-General of Educational Reforms Coordination in the Governor’s Office.
The governor also appointed six Senior Special Assistants I responsible for political affairs and community engagement. They are Mohammed Danlami Isah, Timothy S. Labatak, Mahmud Muhammad (Wafa), Muhammad Bashir Isa (Sarkin Tafarkin Funakaye), Haruna Jonga and Hon. Adamu Bello (Laro).
For the position of Senior Special Assistant II on Political and Community Relations, Maikudi Yagana and Manu Dumbati were appointed, while Atiku Muhammad (Boza Boza) was named Senior Special Assistant II on Public Communications.
Other Senior Special Assistants II appointed include Hassan Bappa (Sarkin Goro), Yunusa Jiji, Maikudi Sarkin Manja, Muhammad Adamu Muh’d, Arabi Usman, Ibrahim Dahiru, Idris Sani Mohammed, Abdulhadi Haruna Usman, Ahmed Lamido, Philemon Ezra, Barnabas Masfara, Kanadilan Nuhu and Alfred Bobby.
Talatu Adamu, Vasty Saleh, Ladi Alhaji Adamu and Faratu Ahmad Nafada were also appointed Senior Special Assistants II on Women Mobilisation.
Njodi said the appointments were aimed at strengthening government coordination, improving community engagement and enhancing collaboration with stakeholders across the state.
He added that the appointees were expected to use their experience to support the implementation of government policies, programmes and reforms.
The SSG stated that all the appointments took effect from August 19, 2026.
