The official draw for the expanded 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in Las Vegas on December 5, 2026, with the iconic The Sphere venue set to host the highly anticipated ceremony, multiple reports confirmed on Tuesday.

The United States, alongside co-hosts Canada and Mexico, will stage the next edition of the global tournament. Despite not being a host city for any matches, Las Vegas has once again been selected as the draw location echoing history from the 1994 World Cup, when the draw was similarly conducted in the Nevada city.

The 2026 tournament, set to be the biggest in FIFA history, will feature 12 groups of four teams, marking a significant departure from the 32-team format used in recent years.

According to ESPN and TUDN Mexico, The Sphere, a 17,500-capacity entertainment marvel equipped with a 54,000-square-meter immersive screen, is the preferred venue for the prestigious event.

FIFA has yet to officially announce the details, but reports suggest the selection of Las Vegas and The Sphere aligns with efforts to deliver a grand and technologically sophisticated spectacle, befitting the scale of the tournament.
