THREE NIGERIANS ARRESTED IN INDIA OVER ALLEGED DRUG TRAFFICKING
Agency Report

Three Nigerians have been arrested in India for their alleged involvement in an international drug trafficking syndicate, Indian authorities have said.
According to a report by The New Indian Express, operatives of the Anti-Narcotic Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) apprehended the suspects following an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects were identified as Ambemo Victor, 37, Chime Moses, 36, and Karikari Ames, 33.
Authorities alleged that the trio entered India on medical and tourist visas before engaging in the illicit drug trade.
According to the report, the suspects were arrested after investigators uncovered their alleged links to another Nigerian national based in Delhi, who was believed to have supplied the drugs.
“The Anti-Narcotic Wing of the CCB has arrested four people, including three Nigerian nationals, in two cases of drug peddling in the city,” the report stated.
It added that operatives seized 10.27 kilograms of MDMA crystals and 2.044 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis, with an estimated street value of about Rs 23 crore.
Acting on intelligence, officers raided a residence within the Madanayakanahalli police jurisdiction, where the suspects were arrested.
Investigators alleged that the three Nigerians procured the narcotics from another Nigerian resident in Delhi before distributing them.
The arrests come barely two months after four other Nigerians were apprehended in India over separate allegations of fraud and impersonation.
In May, Gurugram Police arrested three Nigerians identified simply as Chinedu, Sunday and Jules over an alleged social media fraud scheme in which they reportedly impersonated women to defraud victims.
In a separate operation, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested another Nigerian, identified as Uchenwa, in connection with alleged fraud-related offences.
Police had reportedly recovered 19 mobile phones, one laptop, and 18 Indian and international SIM cards from the three suspects arrested in Gurugram.
Indian authorities said investigations into the latest drug trafficking case are ongoing as efforts continue to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged syndicate.
