Once again, there is a major disagreement between serial hit-maker Runtown and the record label he has been signed to for the past few years. Eric Many Entertainment, Runtown’s record label, has just recently filed an injunction at a Federal High court sitting in Lagos, against the superstar whose real name is Douglas Agu for breach of contract.
It would be recalled that Runtown was sued in May 2016 by Eric Many on allegations of concluding and attending musical shows without the knowledge of the label.
Eric Many further secured a court injunction stopping Runtown from performing as an artiste anywhere in the world, after which the hit-maker pleased with the record label and the case was settled out of court.
This time, Eric Many served Runtown the writ of summons with the Suit No: FHC/L/CS/267/2018. According to the record label, Runtown continued to deliberately breach his contract for a significant amount of time regardless of the appeals for the artiste to honour their agreements.

In their statement, Eric Many revealed that Runtown attended a show in Las Vegas on January 13, 2018 without following due process and that the “Energy” singer has been recording an album without the consent and approval of the label, among other offenses.
Although Runtown’s record deal with Eric Many is due to expire some time this year, the label has alleged that he still owes them a huge sum money including hundreds of millions of Naira from the purchase of his Lamborghini Gallardo which he is yet to pay back to the label as well as unpaid royalties from some of his recent collaborations.
In addition to announcing the sack of Runtown’s erstwhile manager, Ifeanyi Nwanne, Eric Many is seeking the sum of 65 million naira as damages against Runtown for copyright infringements with regard to the collaborative musical works “Call Me” and “Weekend” both of which featured the Runtown, as well as 5 million naira in legal fees.
