Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is reportedly Madrid to complete a loan switch from Chelsea to modest La Liga side CD Leganes.
Leganes will unveil Omeruo – their third signing of the summer- today after agreeing a deal with Chelsea for Nigeria international to join the club on loan for the rest of the season.
Omeruo arrived Madrid yesterday and underwent a routine medical ahead of his official presentation today by the club, and in the process joins the duo of Jose Arnaiz and Oscar Rodriguez as new players at the club in the last 24 hours.
Capped 40 times by Nigeria, 24 year old Omeruo will spend the season on loan with an option to make the move permanent for €5m next summer with Chelsea also agreeing a 20% future sale clause in the agreement.
After spending the past three seasons in Turkey, Omeruo turned down interest from teams in Turkey as he was attracted to the idea of living in Madrid and also playing in the La Liga.
His signing brings to 13 the number of players Leganes have signed this summer with Omeruo set to replace out of favour defender Mauro dos Santos who has been told he can leave the club.
