Following his departure from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has a lucrative offer to move to Saudi Arabia on the table, but the Portugal forward is expected to wait until after the World Cup before deciding on his next move, according to ESPN.

Al-Nassr is prepared to offer the 37-year-old a three-and-a-half-year contract worth more than £100 million per year.

According to ESPN, as part of the agreement, Al-Nassr has indicated that they would be willing to compensate Ronaldo for the wages he would have earned had he completed the final six months of his contract at Manchester United – roughly £16 million.

Ronaldo has asked that his representatives be kept out of club football negotiations while he is in Qatar, but sources have told ESPN that talks about a move to Al-Nassr have taken place.

After agreeing to a “mutual” termination of his contract following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised the club and manager Erik ten Hag, the Portugal captain left Old Trafford without a pay-off.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is hoping that Ronaldo’s presence in their domestic league will help their bid to host the 2030 World Cup and would like the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward to serve as an ambassador for the country.

Ronaldo is still considering staying in Europe and will wait for more clarity on which clubs are interested before making a final decision on his future.

Portugal’s final Group H game is against South Korea on Friday. They have already qualified for the knockout rounds and will face a team from Group G in the last 16 next week, either Brazil, Cameroon, Switzerland, or Serbia.

According to ESPN, Portugal is monitoring Ronaldo’s fitness ahead of the game against South Korea after he suffered a foot injury in Monday’s 2-0 win over Uruguay.
