JUST IN: POPULAR HAUSA VETERAN ACTOR, SAMANJA DIES AT 84
Usman Baba Pategi, popularly referred to as Samanja, a veteran Hausa drama actor has passed away.
After a protracted illness, he passed away early on Sunday morning in a private hospital in Kaduna State.
The late Kannywood actor retired and began working for the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Kaduna, after serving in the Nigerian Army.
At the age of 84, Samanja departed from this world, leaving behind twelve children and two marriages.
In compliance with an Islamic directive, the late actor’s funeral prayer was held at the Kabala Costain mosque in the Kaduna capital, according to a statement released by one of his sons, Muhammad Usman.
