INSECURITY: GUNMEN ABDUCT ABUJA-BOUND PASSENGERS IN NASARAWA
After attacking the 18-seater bus carrying the passengers in Nasarawa State, gunmen kidnapped the passengers and took them to Abuja from Enugu State.
Journalists were informed of this by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the police public relations officer.
Nansel made the revelation on Friday night, stating that the police had been notified of an attack at Doruwa village on the Nasarawa-Keffi route involving an 18-seater bus carrying passengers from Enugu State to Abuja, resulting in the kidnapping of an unknown number of individuals.
He continued by saying that following an operation in the region by the police and other authorities, three of the victims were later saved.
“Police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, responded swiftly, but the act was committed before the information came. The hoodlums were trailed, and the area combed. Consequently, 3 people were rescued, and the vehicle recovered to the police station”, he said.
Nansel assured of an unrelenting effort from security agencies, stating that search and rescue operations are ongoing to arrest the criminals, and rescue the victims.
