PASUMA, TAYE CURRENCY RECONCILE IN MECCA
The feud between two Fuji music stars — Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and his former protégé, Alhaji Taye Akande Adebisi (commonly known as Taye Currency) — has been resolved.
According to The Nation, the two artists reconciled in Mecca during the ongoing Umrah 2025.
In a now-viral video shared by The Nation, the Fuji music stars were seen sitting together, engaging in a conversation.
Supporters of the musicians have confirmed that the rift between them has been resolved.
What was once a mentor-protégé relationship turned into a conflict last year, with both parties exchanging subtle and overt jabs. In October 2024, Taye Currency voiced his disapproval of fans referring to Pasuma as his “father” in the music industry. The Ibadan-born singer clarified that Pasuma is more like an elder brother to him and stated that he couldn’t see him as a father figure.
Taye Currency’s comments sparked a wave of online reactions, with Pasuma’s fans criticizing him for his remarks.
In response to the backlash, Taye Currency released a viral video in which he explained that his words had been misinterpreted. He expressed regret for any offense caused and apologized to Pasuma and anyone hurt by his comments about the 56-year-old artist.
He acknowledged Pasuma as his superior, made it clear that he never intended to insult him, and reaffirmed his respect and commitment to Pasuma.
