The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered high-tension cables and motorcycles allegedly abandoned by suspected vandals during a routine patrol in the Ribah District of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the suspects fled the scene after sighting a joint patrol team of police officers and local vigilantes along the Saki/Unashi road around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025.
“They abandoned their motorcycles and the vandalised cables as they fled to avoid being caught,” Abubakar said, confirming that the police have taken custody of the recovered items as investigations are ongoing to apprehend those involved.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the swift and coordinated action of the patrol team, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring the security of residents across the state.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station promptly.
