One individual was reportedly shot and killed during a confrontation between two opposing cult factions in the Agbarho community, situated in the Ughelli North local government area of Delta State. The body of the deceased, a young man, was found alongside the roadway leading to the Oka market district of the town.

As community members congregated around the victim, seemingly to verify his identity, his brother was overheard on a phone call declaring the homicide, stating, “Come, they just shot my brother Emuobo,” he announced.

Information obtained by the media indicates that the homicide may be an act of retribution, as another young man was fatally shot on Tuesday in a different segment of the town.

“One additional individual was killed on Tuesday. This shooting on Wednesday may be an act of vengeance,” remarked a local resident.

the media has reported that tension has been escalating within the community since Sunday. A source from the community, who requested anonymity, mentioned that residents were seen fleeing in panic on Tuesday along Ekwvere Road when a group of suspected cult members invaded the area.

“Individuals were observed running for their safety on Tuesday,” he stated.

As of the time of reporting, the community remained in a state of unease.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, was unavailable for comment.
