The wait is over as Nigeria has officially released its 28-man squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, with star forward Victor Osimhen and midfield anchor Wilfred Ndidi headlining the team selected by head coach Eric Chelle.
The announcement signals Nigeria’s renewed ambition to reclaim continental glory, with Chelle banking on a blend of experience, youth, and emerging talents to power the Super Eagles’ campaign.
Osimhen, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most lethal strikers, is expected to spearhead the attack, while Leicester City’s Ndidi brings stability and leadership to the midfield. They will be joined by 26 other players who made the final cut after weeks of assessment and squad deliberations.
Chelle, who took charge earlier in the year, expressed confidence in the group, describing them as “a committed, competitive squad capable of making Nigeria proud.”
The Super Eagles will travel to Morocco in the coming days to finalize preparations ahead of their opening fixture. Expectations remain high among fans, with many hopeful that Nigeria can go all the way after coming close in previous editions.
With the squad now confirmed, the countdown to AFCON 2025 intensifies and for millions of Nigerian supporters, the rallying cry is clear: *Naija, let’s go again.* 🦅🇳🇬
