According to him, the programme is implemented through a strategic collaboration between the Health Emergency Initiative and the Nigerian Exchange Group.

Akinpelu added that the exercise would focus on vulnerable children and their caregivers within District I of the local council area.

“About 120 children and their caregivers are expected to benefit directly from the programme.

“Malnutrition remains a critical issue that affects child survival, growth, and overall development, with long-term implications for societal health and productivity if left unaddressed.

“The programme components include nutritional screening, nutrition support, caregiver education, and referrals where necessary,” he said.

The chairman said the initiative represents a proactive approach to early identification, prevention, and effective management of malnutrition in society.
