West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo has praised Fulham F.C. midfielder Alex Iwobi ahead of their Premier League London derby.
Speaking in the build-up to the clash, Nuno highlighted Iwobi’s impressive display against Tottenham Hotspur F.C., particularly the quality of his goal. The Nigerian netted in back-to-back league games for the first time this season, playing a key role in Fulham’s victory.
After Harry Wilson handed Fulham the lead, Iwobi doubled the advantage in the 37th minute, calmly curling a powerful effort from outside the box into the net to secure all three points for Marco Silva’s side.
Nuno acknowledged Fulham’s consistency over the years, describing them as a difficult team to face.
“It’s part of our job to watch every game, and I thought Fulham were very good,” he told the club’s official website. “They are a very good team and have shown it year after year. Marco Silva is doing an excellent job.
“He has been there for a long time, and you can see from the way they operate and stick together that they are a strong side.”
The Portuguese tactician also singled out Iwobi for special praise, citing his strike against Tottenham as evidence of his quality.
“Alex Iwobi, the goal he scored [against Tottenham]… they have so many talented players,” he added.
