MAN LOSES N10M TO ROBBERS IN NIGER

Suspected armed robbers trailed a man from a third-generation bank in Niger State and snatched over N10 million from him on the road.

The incident occurred on Friday after the man reportedly received a payment from a client.

The Media gathered that the robbers intercepted the man on Shiroro Road in Minna, seized the cash, and also took his Toyota Camry.

The assailants abandoned their own Toyota Corolla at the scene before fleeing with the victim’s vehicle.

It was further reported that the victim recovered one of the rifles used by the robbers during the attack.

The Niger State Police Command spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident on Friday, adding that the police also recovered the rifle and the vehicle abandoned by the suspects.

He stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the robbers who fled the scene.

“On March 6, 2026, at around 3 pm, suspected armed robbers attacked a Toyota Camry that had been trailed from a bank to Shiroro Road.

“The victim was robbed of a sum of money and his vehicle, while the robbers abandoned their Toyota Corolla and fled with the Camry.

“Further investigation revealed that the victim recovered one of the robbers’ rifles. Police operatives from Tudun-Wada Division responded to the scene, recovering both the rifle and the robbers’ abandoned vehicle.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects,” he said.
