MAN ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTS TO DUMP GIRLFRIEND’S BODY IN CAR BOOT IN IBADAN

Residents of the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, were thrown into shock after a man allegedly attempted to conceal the body of a young woman in the boot of his car before fleeing the scene.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla, was seen trying to force the woman’s body into the car boot when he suddenly noticed that some residents were still outside due to the evening heat.
According to residents, the man appeared startled on realising that people were nearby. He reportedly dropped the body on the ground and immediately sped off in the vehicle.
He is now at large.
Sources within the community disclosed that neighbours had earlier seen the man and the woman enter the house together earlier in the day, raising suspicions when the incident later unfolded.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and recovered the body of the victim, identified by residents as Precious, who was said to be living in the Akobo community.
Further findings revealed that the house where the incident allegedly occurred was left in disarray, while a hammer believed to be connected to the incident was reportedly found on the floor.
The suspect has been identified by locals as Muhammad Quadri, a former student of The Polytechnic Ibadan and an ex-member of the National Youth Service Corps.
Community sources also alleged that the couple had been involved in a toxic relationship prior to the incident.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the matter as investigations continue.
