BASSEY WITHDRAWS FROM SUPER EAGLES’ FRIENDLY MATCHES DUE TO INJURY

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has withdrawn from Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Iran and Jordan due to a back injury, The media reports.
Bassey picked up the injury during Fulham’s 3-1 win over Burnley last weekend.
With just two days remaining before Nigeria’s first friendly against Iran on Friday, head coach Eric Chelle is not expected to name a replacement for the defender.

Meanwhile, captain Wilfred Ndidi has joined the team at their Bellis Deluxe Hotel base in Antalya, Turkey, bringing the squad to 22 players.
The Besiktas midfielder is set to take part in the team’s first training session later tonight.
