The Dangote Refinery has announced a significant reduction in petrol prices across Nigeria. This move is expected to ease the burden of fuel costs for consumers and potentially influence market prices nationwide. The price cut reflects the refinery’s growing operational capacity and its goal to stabilize the local fuel supply.

Fuel prices have been reduced by ₦15 per litre across all regions in Nigeria. The new rates now range from ₦875 to ₦905 per litre, depending on the location:

  • Lagos: ₦875

  • South-West: ₦885

  • North-East & South-South: ₦905

  • North-West & Central: ₦895

This price cut applies to major marketers partnering with the refinery, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy. Previously, prices were as high as ₦920 per litre in some regions.

The notice announces new fuel prices: Lagos residents will pay ₦875 per litre, while those in the North East and South South will pay ₦905. The company also claims the refined petrol and diesel offer better engine performance and are environmentally friendly.

The Lekki-based refinery announced that a naira-for-crude deal has enabled it to lower petrol prices. In a statement, the company emphasized its commitment to price stability to support the Nigerian economy and ease the burden on consumers, assuring that petrol prices will remain affordable and stable.
