ASUU DECLARES STRIKE OVER UNFULFILLED AGREEMENTS, WARNS STUDENTS, PARENTS

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike, citing the Federal Government’s failure to implement the 2009 agreement as the reason for its action.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the union said the decision became necessary after years of unfulfilled promises, despite repeated calls for accountability and commitment to revitalising public universities.
ASUU warned students and parents to prepare for imminent disruption of academic activities, stressing that the strike was aimed at securing the future of public education in Nigeria.
The union urged Nigerians to hold the government accountable, noting that without decisive action, the country risks further decay in its educational system.
