‎The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared an indefinite strike, citing the Federal Government’s failure to implement the 2009 agreement as the reason for its action.

‎In a statement issued on Thursday, the union said the decision became necessary after years of unfulfilled promises, despite repeated calls for accountability and commitment to revitalising public universities.

‎ASUU warned students and parents to prepare for imminent disruption of academic activities, stressing that the strike was aimed at securing the future of public education in Nigeria.

‎The union urged Nigerians to hold the government accountable, noting that without decisive action, the country risks further decay in its educational system.
