JOSÉ MOURINHO DISMISSED IN TURKEY

Jose Mourinho’s agreement with Fenerbahce has been concluded, the Turkish organization announced on Friday, marking a premature conclusion to the Portuguese coach’s period in Istanbul.
Mourinho, aged 62, assumed leadership of Fenerbahce in July 2024 following his departure from AS Roma. A declaration from the Istanbul club, pursuing their inaugural Turkish Super Lig championship since 2014, indicated they had “mutually consented to terminate” the agreement with Mourinho.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United manager was welcomed by thousands of supporters upon his arrival in Istanbul at the beginning of last summer, elevating expectations of disrupting Galatasaray’s recent supremacy. However, Fenerbahce’s erratic commencement to the season and early European challenges placed his position under scrutiny.
The club did not disclose a successor.
