Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The move comes just three days after Yusuf quit the NNPP, citing prolonged internal crises and ongoing legal disputes that, he said, had weakened the party’s cohesion across the country.

The governor was set to return to the APC on Monday, after formally leaving the NNPP last Friday.

The defection of Governor Yusuf coincides with a mass switch by Kano State lawmakers, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore; his Deputy, Muhammad Butu-Butu; the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussain; and 19 other members, all of whom have moved from the NNPP to the APC.
