ADC LAUNCHES FREE ONLINE MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTION

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a nationwide free online membership registration platform as part of preparations for the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the digital portal complements the ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise launched last month in Abuja.
The ADC explained that the platform is designed to comply with the Electoral Act 2026 provisions on digital membership registers. Only members whose details are fully captured and verified on the official digital register will be eligible to participate in party primaries, either as voters or aspirants.
“Accordingly, only individuals whose membership details are fully captured and verified in the Party’s official digital register will be eligible to vote or be voted for in the Party’s primaries,” the statement said.
While introducing the online registration option, the party noted that manual registration will continue across states for those who prefer physical enrolment. The initiative aims to remove barriers to entry, simplify registration, and make participation more accessible to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
The ADC also called on members who registered on its previous digital platform to revalidate their details on the new portal in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines. Support groups and associations were similarly encouraged to complete their registration online.
The party emphasized that the exercise does not affect its objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 and the current Independent National Electoral Commission timetable.
The launch follows the signing of the Electoral Act amendment by President Bola Tinubu on February 18, which mandates political parties to submit comprehensive digital membership registers to INEC ahead of their primaries.
