England manager Thomas Tuchel has addressed the situation for the first time since Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice left the national camp ahead of the friendly against Japan.
The Arsenal pair returned to their club for further medical evaluations.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Tuchel explained that it “made no sense” to keep Saka and Rice with the squad.
“The players wanted to play, but it would have been too risky for both them and the team,” Tuchel said.
“They were clearly experiencing discomfort, and there was a danger of aggravating their injuries.”
