KANO LAWMAKER ABDULHAKEEM ADO RESIGNS FROM NNPP

Hon. Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado, the House of Representatives member representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency in Kano State, has announced his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In a letter dated March 30, 2026, addressed to his ward chairman in Kausani Ward, the lawmaker said his decision takes immediate effect.

Ado, who serves as Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning, explained that his move is driven by his intention to join another political party he believes is better positioned to tackle Nigeria’s challenges.
He noted that the decision was made in good faith, stating that he considers it necessary to align with a platform capable of offering effective solutions to the country’s problems.
Despite his exit, Ado appreciated the NNPP leadership and his supporters in Wudil and Garko for their support throughout his time in the party.
His resignation letter was acknowledged by the ward chairman, Abdulrashid Umar Ado, on the same day.
