Yul Edochie is facing criticism from fans following a post he made that appeared to target former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi.

The Nollywood actor shared the message on Tuesday morning via his official X handle, where he stated that Obi’s presidential ambition would not succeed.

He also wrote that “any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter,” adding that “whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival.”

“A total waste of time. It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that.

“I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it.

“But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now”.

The post, however, didn’t go well with fans, who stormed the comment section to express their anger.

Below are some of the comments;

@okeygaruba: Even you that failed in your marriage are here talking about Peter Obi? Yul get sense for once even if you don’t have shame. Imagine disgracing the beautiful family and name your father has built over the years with this rascality of yours every time?

@obed-obinn: You’ve turned to a prodigal son and an inconsequential piece of shit/garbage as a human being and in the scheme of things in ala igbo. You’ve turned to an outcast, so your opinions doesn’t count again, OKOKO!

@JustusOnyia: That’s why your Nollywood career went down the drain.

Social media users have criticized the post, with some urging restraint and accusing the actor of unnecessary political attacks.

One user wrote that he should “focus on his career in Nollywood instead of politics,” adding that if he chooses to participate in politics, he should do so properly rather than “seeking favour from political figures.” The comment also described his remarks as unnecessary and urged him to stop what was termed as sycophantic behaviour.

Another user questioned why he would publicly criticize a fellow Nigerian, suggesting that people should support one another rather than “dragging names online out of political desperation.”

A further comment referenced his personal and career journey, claiming inconsistency in his public and private life, and describing his recent conduct as confusing.
