Man United Fan Fury Wants Old Trafford To Host Rematch With Wilder
Fury at Old Trafford
Tyson Fury wants a rematch with Deontay Wilder at Old Trafford after their WBC heavyweight fight in the United States was controversially scored as a draw.
The ‘Gypsy King’, a Manchester United fan, was widely considered to have had the better of his opponent despite being knocked down twice and was dismayed when he was denied a win, allowing champion Wilder to retain his belt.

Fury was knocked down for the second time in the last round and seemed to be out cold. However, the referee chose to give him a count instead of calling the fight off as soon as the Englishman was felled, and it proved the correct decision as he managed to get back to his feet and continued.
As a result, Fury is hoping for a rematch on home turf instead of in Wilder’s native America to avoid any potential controversy or bias.
“Of course [I feel a sense of injustice about the verdict] but I’m not going to go on about it forever, life goes on,” Fury told BT Sport.
“I got robbed blind in America, the world knows it, but we’ve got to go on, continue to the next fight. Frank Warren said [the rematch should be at] Arsenal, I said no, let’s have it at Old Trafford. Hopefully, we can have it here in the summer.”
The Manchester-born fighter is a United fan and was hoping for a Red Devils win on Wednesday night and joked that he wouldn’t be happy with a draw.
“[Manchester United] have been on the ropes but we need a win here to get us back off the ropes, land a good right hand and we’ll be doing alright. No [I wouldn’t take a draw against Arsenal]. I don’t like draws, I only like wins!”
Unfortunately for Fury, the game finished level at 2-2, with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard twice equalising after Shkodran Mustafi and a Marcos Rojo own goal had put the Gunners into the lead.
