The Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling station has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.

A market survey on Friday showed that the station adjusted its retail price to N1,241 per litre in Abuja and surrounding areas, down from N1,317 per litre.

This represents a reduction of N76 per litre, or about 5.77 percent.

The price cut comes three days after Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry price by N75 per litre, following a drop in crude oil prices to below $80 per barrel.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Ranoil, AA Rano, Empire Energy, and several other filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory have yet to reduce their pump prices despite the recent decline in crude oil prices and the Dangote Refinery’s adjustment.

Reports indicate growing public dissatisfaction over the reluctance of some petroleum marketers to reflect the lower prices at the retail level.
