The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has begun registering 50,000 students across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State as part of its “Free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Scholarship” program for the 2026 examination.
Speaking at the programme held on Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall, Awka Road, Onitsha, SERHA’s National Coordinator, Belusochukwu Enwere, explained that the initiative is part of a broader educational support scheme aimed at benefiting 50,000 students across the South East geopolitical zone.
Enwere noted that sponsoring 50,000 students reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s confidence in the talent and potential of youths, his commitment to equal access to higher education, and his long-term vision of fostering a knowledge-driven and economically vibrant South East.

He added that the initiative is intended to alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians while increasing opportunities for indigent but academically qualified candidates to access tertiary education in the region.
He stated, “I stand before you today with profound gratitude to God and a strong dedication to the future of our young people as we officially launch the 50,000 Free JAMB Scholarship/Registration for students in Anambra State.
“Today is more than just examination registration. It is about creating opportunities, breaking down barriers, and intentionally investing in the intellectual growth of Anambra State.
“We take pride in this initiative as a testament to our steadfast commitment to youth empowerment and the advancement of education across the South East.”
“Renewed Hope must go beyond being just a slogan; it should translate into tangible interventions that positively impact families and communities.”
He urged the beneficiaries to live up to the trust placed in them, saying, “To our students, this scholarship comes with responsibility. It is a vote of confidence in your abilities. We expect you to prepare thoroughly, stay focused, and strive for excellence. Let your results reflect the investment Mr. President has made in you today.”
Earlier, SERHA’s Anambra State Coordinator, Alphonsus Muonagolu, expressed confidence that students from all 21 local government areas in the state would benefit from the initiative.
