VIDEO: TRUMP ESCORTED OFF STAGE AFTER REPORTED GUNSHOTS AT WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS’ DINNER

US President Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents after reports of gunfire disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, on Saturday.
The incident occurred at the Washington Hilton, where multiple attendees, including Vice President JD Vance and members of the president’s Cabinet, were also evacuated amid the security scare.
According to eyewitness accounts and pool reports, several Secret Service agents shouted “shots fired” as they rushed to secure the venue and protect dignitaries.
Sources confirmed that the president was immediately moved to a secure location, while Vance and other senior officials were safely evacuated. An administration official later stated that all Cabinet members in attendance were accounted for and unharmed.
In a statement shared via social media, the Secret Service confirmed that one suspect had been taken into custody. The agency has yet to release further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident.
Trump later confirmed he was safe and commended law enforcement for their swift response. “A shooter has been apprehended,” he said, praising officers for acting “quickly and bravely.”
The president initially indicated his intention to return to the event but was subsequently advised by security officials to leave the venue. He later announced plans to return to the White House and address the press.
Meanwhile, Wolf Blitzer, who was present at the dinner, described the chaotic moment on air, saying he was just a few feet away from the alleged gunman when shots were fired.
“All of a sudden, a guy with a weapon — a very, very serious weapon — started shooting, and I happened to have been a few feet away from him,” Blitzer said.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations into the incident continue.
