SOME NIGERIAN MOVIES TO WATCH OUT FOR IN 2019

2018 was a fantastic year for Nollywood as the industry recorded a lot of success stories.

However, 2019 is looking bigger and better as there are indications that the practitioners are willing to take it to the next level.

Below are some of the list of movies that are set to hit the screen in 2019(courtesy of Nollymania)

Plan B

Dolapo Adeleke (aka LowlaDee), creator of the web-series “This is it”, is set to release a digital film directed by herself. She has partnered with a Kenyan company called Alfajiri in the production of “Plan B”.

The upcoming African movie is set to be released on February 14. Its synopsis will definitely strike you as one of those many stories that are strangely familiar. It also feels very real. “Plan B” features Sarah Hassan, Cathrine Kamau Karanja, Daniel Etim Effiong and Lenana Kariba.

4th Republic – One of the Most Anticipated Upcoming African movies of 2019 

Director Ishaya Bako who made the movies “Road to Yesterday” and “Royal Hibiscus Hotel” is dropping a new political thriller. If you liked the two movies mentioned above then you can be sure you will like this one too. The cast in “4th Republic” include Kate Henshaw, Sani Muazu, Bimbo Manuel, Linda Ejiofor, Yakubu Mohamed, Preachy Bassey, and Sifon Okoi. 4th Republic has no release date yet but is said to be available soon.

Oga John (Short Film) 

It’s about time someone took mental illness awareness seriously in Nigeria. We are talking about all the different types of mental disorders, like schizophrenia, bipolarity and personality disorders. The producers of “Oga John”, however, chose OCD as the topic for their short film. They still manage to send a universal message regarding mental illness.
