POLICE QUESTION 8 DAVIDO’S DOMESTIC STAFF OVER SON’S DEATH

At least eight domestic workers whave been called in for interrogation in connection to the passing of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, the Lagos State Police Command reported on Tuesday.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, who confirmed the report saying the domestic workers’ statements will help the command determine what exactly occurred that led to the three-year-old boy’s death.

Hundeyin added that anyone deemed negligently accountable will be held back to aid the command in the ongoing investigation. He added that everyone not found guilty would be freed immediately.

Hundeyin said, ā€œHis (Ifeanyiā€™s) death is confirmed. His (Davidoā€™s) domestic workers have been brought in for questioning and anybody found not culpable will be allowed to go immediately.

ā€œAbout eight of them were brought in to narrate their version of what happened to assist us in getting what really happened.

ā€œAt the end of their narrations, whoever that is found not guilty of negligence or not culpable in anyway will be allowed to go.

ā€œAnybody found culpable will stay back to assist us in further investigation. The domestic workers are about eight that were brought in.ā€

Ifeanyi reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at his fatherā€™s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

After being pulled from the pool, the three-year-old boy was reportedly transferred to a hospital in the Lekki areaĀ of the state, where where he was pronounced dead.

The victimā€™s family had yet to react to the tragic development as of the time this report was filed.

However, NigeriansĀ have been outraged and traumatised by the development ever since the news of Ifeanyi’s alleged death became public knowledge.
