[BREAKING] DSS ARRAIGNS KEY SUSPECTS BEHIND DEADLY BENUE, PLATEAU ATTACKS

In six distinct allegations submitted by the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Terkende Ashuwa and Amos Alede, residents of the Guma local government area in Benue State, were charged with a three-count indictment for purportedly executing retaliatory strikes against terror suspects associated with incidents in Abinsi and Yelwata villages, resulting in the destruction of private property and an economic loss of 12 cattle in Ukpam village, Benue State.
Haruna Adamu and Muhammad Abdullahi, from the Awe local government area in Nassarawa State, were additionally accused, alongside others who remain at large, of perpetrating assaults against the inhabitants of Abinsi and Yelwata villages on June 13, 2025.
Halima Haliru Umar, a 32-year-old woman from the Faskari local government area in Kastina State, faced a four-count charge for allegedly facilitating the transportation of 302 rounds of live ammunition for AK-47 rifles to bandits.

Meanwhile, a 75-year-old individual, Nanbol Tali, along with Timnan Manjo, was also arraigned on a four-count charge for engaging in the unauthorized buying and selling of two locally manufactured AK-47 rifles for the sum of 3 million naira.
In a related matter, Danjuma Antu, hailing from Jos North in Plateau State, was summoned to court on a five-count charge for unlawful possession of two locally produced pistols capable of discharging 9mm ammunition.
The DSS has filed an additional six-count charge against Silas Iduh Oloche from Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State for the illegal possession of 18 firearms (grenades) without the requisite license.
