UPDATE: EIGHT TRAPPED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS RESCUED ALIVE FROM LAGOS BUILDING COLLAPSE

All eight male construction workers trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building at Alagomeji, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, have been rescued.
The four-storey building, which was still under construction, collapsed around 7:46 p.m. on Friday.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Comptroller of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Olajide Ogabi, and obtained by Hotjist on Saturday, three people were confirmed rescued shortly after the incident.
“The building collapse at 333 Borno Way, Alagomeji, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, has all relevant emergency responders including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service at the scene with three male adult victims already rescued alive while search and rescue continues for the remaining two construction workers still trapped in,” Ogabi said.
Providing an update, he explained that the rescue team had reached ground zero with no further casualties.
“All reported trapped eight victims (all adults male construction workers) have been rescued alive as search and rescue reached ground zero while evacuation of rubbles continue,” he added.
