KANO GOVERNOR RELIEVES BUBA GALADIMA, APPOINTS EMIR OF GAYA AS NEW POLYTECHNIC CHAIRMAN
Governor Abba Yusuf has removed Buba Galadima from his role as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, disclosed on Saturday that Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir has been appointed as the new Chairman of the polytechnic’s Governing Council.
The statement explained that Galadima’s removal, before the completion of the council’s three-year tenure, was part of ongoing restructuring efforts aimed at aligning the institution with the administration’s Kano First Agenda.
“Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the polytechnic,” the statement said.
Governor Yusuf thanked Galadima for his contributions, stating, “Governor Yusuf appreciates Engr. Buba Galadima for the services he rendered to the institution and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
The governor also urged the new chairman, the Emir of Gaya, to leverage his experience and leadership to enhance both academic and administrative excellence at the polytechnic.
“The governor calls on the new chairman to bring his wealth of experience, leadership and commitment to bear in repositioning Kano State Polytechnic for greater academic and administrative excellence,” the statement added.
