TINUBU MOURNS WITH EL-RUFAI OVER MOTHER’S DEATH

President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away on Friday in Cairo after a brief illness.
Tinubu conveyed his condolences in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President described the late matriarch as a woman who lived a fulfilled life and raised children and grandchildren who have made meaningful contributions to Nigeria.

Tinubu, who also lost his mother at an advanced age, said he understands the depth of El-Rufai’s loss.
“Nasir, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved mother, Hajiya Umma, which occurred today in Cairo,” the President said.
“As someone who has also lost an elderly mother, I share in your grief and understand the depth of your loss,” he added.
“Losing a mother is a pain like no other. While words may not fully ease the sorrow, I pray that the memories of her love, wisdom, and guidance will bring you comfort in the days ahead.”
“I also pray that you draw strength from the impactful life she lived and the values she instilled in the family,” the President said.
He expressed confidence that the deceased had fulfilled her purpose on earth in accordance with divine will.
“As believers in Allah, we trust that she has completed her journey as ordained by the Almighty and has returned to her Creator,” Bola Tinubu added.
The President joined family, friends, and associates in mourning with Nasir El-Rufai, praying that Allah grants her Aljannah Firdaus, the highest level of Paradise.
El-Rufai served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress. He also previously served as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2003 to 2007 during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo.
