FRSC RETURNS N3.7M, VALUABLES RECOVERED FROM FATAL CRASH SCENE IN KADUNA

Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps attached to the Zaria Unit Command have recovered and returned ₦3,727,500 in cash and valuables worth about ₦500,000 from the scene of a fatal road crash.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, along the Zaria–Funtua Highway near Zaria Academy and involved a Toyota Corolla and a Peugeot 806 carrying nine passengers.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Felicia Kalu, one passenger died at the scene of the crash while eight others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
She explained that upon receiving the distress call, FRSC rescue teams responded promptly, administering first aid before evacuating the injured victims to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Kalu added that the Zaria Unit Commander, Nasiru Falgore, a Chief Route Commander, formally handed over the recovered cash and valuables to the victims on Monday in the presence of their relatives and other witnesses.
Commending the officers for their conduct, the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, described the action as a demonstration of the agency’s institutional values of honesty, accountability and service to humanity.
He praised the Zaria operatives for maintaining high standards of discipline and transparency, stressing that integrity remains central to all FRSC operations.
Beneficiaries of the recovered money expressed relief and gratitude, noting that the officers not only rescued victims swiftly but also safeguarded their belongings at a critical moment.
They also pledged to promote road safety awareness and responsible driving within their communities.
The FRSC noted that the incident reflects the corps’ commitment to professionalism, integrity and service in the discharge of its duties.
