NEMA DEBUNKS RUMORS THAT ITS WAREHOUSE WAS LOOTED BY FCT RESIDENTS
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has dismissed the news making the rounds that its warehouse was looted by some FCT residents in Gwagwa-Karimo.
NEMA’s spokesperson, Manzo Ezekiel, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent confirmed this development.
Reacting he said, “Our NEMA warehouse is intact, the one that was looted does not belong to NEMA.”
However, it was learnt that the looted warehouse belongs to FCT Agric.
You will recall that the residents carted away foodstuffs and other items.
Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force were deployed to the area to disperse the looters and secure the building.
Also, the spokesperson for the FCT command, Josephine Adeh, had verified the incident in a text message saying, “The situation is now under control.”
