Kemi Adeosun Says 6% Tax Contribution Is The Lowest In The World
Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeousun has disclosed the 6% tax contribution to the GDP is the lowest in the world.
Recalling the setting up of the tax implementation policy by President Muhammadu Buhari aimed having government revenue that is sustainable.
She made the disclosure while receiving progress report from the committee on tax policy in Abuja highlighting that the committee is made up of experts and policy markers that will proffer solution to the already outdated tax policy the tax system.
Correspondent Linda Ike reports that the Finance Minister, Adeosun further assured that the document if implemented by the National Assembly and Presidency it would redirect wealth from the rich to the poor and stabilize the economy.

Earlier, the committee on tax policy who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Taiwo Ayodele explained that the recommendations proffered will drive effective implementation and growth stabilities.

The report is part of the committee’s obligations to give progress report timely which the minister hopes to receive quarterly.
